Le Saint Loup restaurant is located in the village of Saint-Loup-de-Varennes, in the heart of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in central-eastern France. Just a few minutes by car from Chalon-sur-Saône, the prefecture of the Saône-et-Loire department, our location offers both convenience and tranquility.
The serene landscapes of Saint-Loup-de-Varennes inspired Nicéphore Niépce, the inventor of photography, who captured several local viewpoints and monuments in his very first photographs. During your visit to Le Saint Loup restaurant, you can explore his house, known as the "Maison du Gras," where he conducted most of his research and technological discoveries. This historical site is open to the public during the summer. Additionally, Saint-Loup-de-Varennes boasts a beautiful church, a 19th-century washhouse, and a château that once belonged to the Louvois family and later the Dukes of Uzès. This château has been a classified historical monument since 2009.
